Bali
Been back from Bali for a week now. Slowly getting back into the swing of life. Bali was amazing!!! We both had the most incredible time, and did so many things. I’ve posted heaps of photos to my Flickr, all in all I think we took between 1500-1600 photos, which equates to around 150 per day. Kind of crazy when you stop and think about it, but so glad we took them all, we captured so many great memories. It’s good to be back home and able to hang out with friends and that sort of thing, but I miss being away.
Next on my list is Ute Muster, which is fast approaching… first weekend in October, for those of you playing at home. Then it’s overseas again in December, heading over to Penang with the family for Christmas, which should be an interesting experience. I can see a pool bars in my future.

That’s exactly how it all went down. I’ve just booked two holidays for the second half of this year. And boy am I ready for a break!!! Work has been really busy lately, and with no time off for 12 months I was starting to feel it. Short temper, short attention span, constant fatigue… I was burning out.
I now have three breaks planned between now and the end of the year. Time away with the girl, time away by myself & time away with the family. All bases covered.
Time with the girl in August will be spent in Bali. 10 days away, split between Kuta & Ubud. We can’t wait! First holiday together and we’re both really looking forward to it. Can’t wait to have nothing to do but sit by the pool or at the beach, meander through a market or a wildlife park. Or just do NOTHING.
Next up is 5 days off in October, some time to myself… And 8000 or so other ute drivers. I’m making my yearly pilgrimage to Deni for the ute muster. Just me, my truck and my swag! I love it. Big bonus this year is Cold Chisel are headlining!!! Should be a great weekend, it always is.
Then finally in December, a bit of a family holiday, with the girl too. Off to Penang for 10days, including Christmas!!! Been ages since we’ve had a family holiday… Or even been in the one place at the one time. I mean, my brother lives in China, I live out of home, my sister works & goes to uni, and my Dad travel A LOT… so it’s a little hard to have a family get-together. It’s going to be great!
With everything booked and planned, I am some what more enthusiastic at work, knowing that in 8 weeks I’ll be relaxing by the pool, drink in hand, without a care. Just knowing that a break is coming has really lifted my spirits, it’s amazing.
